Subject: [dpdk-announce] release candidate 1.8.0-rc6
Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2014 01:05:38 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <11537963.uQD8VRUaLt@xps13> (raw)

A new DPDK release candidate is ready for testing:
	http://dpdk.org/browse/dpdk/tag/?id=v1.8.0-rc6

This release candidate is only 1 day younger than the rc5 and include
some major build fixes around combined library linking.
Please test your applications with various build configurations
(static/shared combined/separated libraries) and various toolchains.

Changelog (main changes since rc5)
	- fixes for:
		* building
		* bond
		* unit tests
		* examples

Many bugs have been seen with static analyzers.
This kind of tool must definitively be automated in next months.

We are approaching the hard deadline for the release.
Except documentation, the last pending patches are about:
	- new Rx error flags
	- enic VFIO
	- ixgbevf link status
	- Xen PMD build
	- AF_packet PMD checks
Please review them to help closing these bugs.

Thank you
