The CFP for this event is also now open. You can submit presentation propos= als at: https://dpdksummit.com/AbstractProposalSubmission.aspx. The deadlin= e for submissions is Friday August 25th.=20 Since this is a technical conference aimed at DPDK software developers, pro= posals should focus on the main technical challenges for the project, inclu= ding things like: - New APIs, libraries and features - DPDK changes required to facilitate hardware acceleration - Technical challenges facing the DPDK community, including parts of the co= de that need to be refactored - Improvements to interworking with the Linux kernel - Improvements to performance, usability and packaging - Virtualization and container networking - Innovative networking technologies such as P4, and their impact on DPDK Another thing to consider when submitting proposals is that Userspace is an= interactive event where we focus more on discussion and less on presentati= on. Ideally, we're looking for topics where somebody can give a short prese= ntation to introduce a topic and describe the main technical challenges, an= d then lead a discussion where the rest of the community can give their vie= ws and we can try to reach agreement on the next steps. A great example fro= m last year was the session Olivier presented on the mbuf changes. At the moment, Trishan (our Linux Foundation Project Manager) is working wi= th the Governing Board and the Technical Board to create a working group fo= r planning/managing DPDK events. We'll use a subset of that working group t= o review presentation proposals and finalise the agenda. > -----Original Message----- > From: announce [mailto:announce-bounces@dpdk.org] On Behalf Of > O'Driscoll, Tim > Sent: Tuesday, July 11, 2017 12:09 PM > To: announce@dpdk.org > Subject: [dpdk-announce] Plan for European and USA DPDK Summits >=20 > A few people have been asking about the dates for our European > (Userspace) and USA DPDK Summits, so I wanted to send an update on the > status.
