Hardware Setup:

*         Intel hardware is running now. George sent instructions to Patrick to integrate it into Jenkins so that tests can be triggered automatically. Results will be sent to George and Qian initially.

*         Mellanox hardware has been running for a few weeks now.

*         NXP and Cavium hardware is still in progress.

Test Setup:

*         Discussed how we handle patch dependencies (patch set A depends on patch set B). Currently, we don't have a good way to handle this. Dependencies are typically mentioned in the patch set cover letter, but that doesn't go into Patchwork. The only solution is to manually apply dependencies.

*         Discussed which repo we should be testing with (master, next-net, next-crypto etc.). Agreed that we should test on master.

*         Patchwork 2 has support for patch sets which will make the setup easier. Ali is looking into this and hopes to have it running by the end of May.

*         There are sometimes build errors because dependencies are missing. Agreed that for optional dependencies (crypto libraries, libpcap etc.) these shouldn't cause a problem. For any mandatory dependencies, we'll need to install them on all the lab machines.

*         Test results will go into the database, but it's not clear how long we should keep the tarballs generated during testing. These would be useful in reproducing the test results. Agreed that we should only need to keep these for 1 release cycle. After that, any issues should have been addressed and fixed.

*         Target is still to have tests running with public results by the end of Q2. We can announce this at the DPDK Summit PRC on June 28th.
