Subject: [dpdk-stable] patch 'net/pcap: fix Rx with small buffers' has been queued to LTS release 18.11.3
Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2019 11:17:12 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20190905101754.21933-12-ktraynor@redhat.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20190905101754.21933-1-ktraynor@redhat.com>

Hi,

FYI, your patch has been queued to LTS release 18.11.3

Note it hasn't been pushed to http://dpdk.org/browse/dpdk-stable yet.
It will be pushed if I get no objections before 09/12/19. So please
shout if anyone has objections.

Also note that after the patch there's a diff of the upstream commit vs the
patch applied to the branch. This will indicate if there was any rebasing
needed to apply to the stable branch. If there were code changes for rebasing
(ie: not only metadata diffs), please double check that the rebase was
correctly done.

Queued patches are on a temporary branch at:
https://github.com/kevintraynor/dpdk-stable-queue

This queued commit can be viewed at:
https://github.com/kevintraynor/dpdk-stable-queue/commit/11ab8ddd3f846ae5d87f3ad40b7934388a071829

Thanks.

Kevin Traynor

Subject: [PATCH] net/pcap: fix Rx with small buffers

[ upstream commit 6653d812c6d47f02ec6562a6118254299b0ffd5c ]

If the pkt pool contains only buffers smaller than the default headroom,
then the driver will compute an invalid buffer size (negative value cast
to an uint16_t).
Rely on the mbuf api to check how much space is available in the mbuf.

Fixes: 6eb0ae218a98 ("pcap: fix mbuf allocation")
