Subject: [dpdk-stable] DPDK capture issue in Rx only mode (promiscuous) with Broadcom bnxt driver (Broadcom NIC BCM57412 and driver BNXT 1.10.1:214.4.91)

Message-ID: <BN6PR19MB005144A575A0077C0D093AA68B929@BN6PR19MB0051.namprd19.prod.outlook.com> (raw)
Hi,
While testing the support of 10G capture over Broadcom NIC BCM57412 and driver BNXT 1.10.1:214.4.91 (Driver HWRM version: 1.9.2) we ran into a capture issue.
The Broadcom driver fails to start capture over dpdk with the following error, this limits 10G capture capability.
Error:
bnxt_dev_start_op(): Queues are not configured yet!
rte_eth_dev_start: -22
Environment:
CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009
Kernel: kernel-3.10.0-1160.21.1.el7.x86_64
DPDK 18.11 centos 7.x
Broadcom card : BCM57412
BNXT driver details:
bnxt_hwrm_ver_get(): 1.10.1:214.4.91
bnxt_hwrm_ver_get(): Driver HWRM version: 1.9.2
We would need help with instructions (API examples) on how to integrate and use Broadcom BNXT driver (card BCM57412) with DPDK 18.11 in promiscuous Rx only queues.
DPDK with intel cards and ixgbe or i40e drivers works fine, we are facing issue with Broadcom bnxt driver.
Thanks,
Ram
