The port probing patch is dependent on patch 115303 "eal: make eal_parse_coremask external", since the application can pass in a coremask to aid in discovering the best performing port/core combinations. The fence bypass patch uses a #define intentionally. The performance improvement is significant, but only customers with very specific use cases can benefit from this. We don't want to expose a command line option that when used incorrectly could lead to data corruption.
