  To: dev; +Cc: ferruh.yigit

Rework mailbox access serialization to dynamically allocate and
free mbox entry. Also remove unnecessary temp memory and macros.

Observed with: gcc-12.0 (GCC) 12.0.1 20220118 (experimental)
