Release Dates
-------------

* v20.11 dates
   * -rc1:           Friday, 9 October 2020
   * -rc2:           Friday, 23 October 2020
   * Release:        Friday, 13 November 2020

   * Nvidia Mellanox, Marvell, Broadcom & Arm already sent roadmap, all
     contributors please send roadmap for the release.


Highlights
----------

* Thomas is working on mbuf update patch, to convert more fields to
   dynamic fields. Help is requested to convert more fields, please reach
   out if you can help.

* There is some execution problems in the security issues, there are
   some reported security issues waiting more than they should. The
   bottleneck is mainly resourcing in security team (Ferruh, Thomas,
   Stephen), need additional support.
   * Will bring the issue to next techboard meeting


Subtrees
--------

* main
   * Make/meson compatibility patch is under review
     * The ask should be more clear on them
   * Reverting pci mapping API workaround causing regression on
     some PMDs (i40e)
     * Need Anatoly's comment on it
   * mbuf work is in progress
     * 'timestamp' field already moved, but help needed to move
       'userdata' & 'seqn' fields
   * Roadmap updates merged to web page
     * mainly Intel is missing
   * Some fixes sent for oncoming gcc 11
     * Would be nice to have these checks on the CI
   * Doc maintainer updated, right now there is no official maintainer
     * Volunteers are welcome
     * John will continue to support as much as he can

* next-net
   * Overall ~400 patches merged from next-net and subtrees
     * ~250 patches in next-net backlog
   * Need help on ethdev patch reviews
     * Specially on rte_flow ones
   * An early merge from next-net done
   * New features should not forget the release note updates
     * Release note updates shouldn't come later as separate patch,
       but it should be part of original patch

* next-crypto
   * direct crypto data-path from Intel is under review
     * Asked additional review from Marvell
   * Two new PMDs, will review in next few days
     * A bbdev driver (baseband/acc100) by Intel
     * A crypto driver (crypto/bcmfs) from Broadcom
   * A compressdev driver (compress/mlx5) from Mellanox still as RFC
     * Expected to have the PMD for this release

* next-eventdev
   * There are two new PMDs, two DLB driver versions
     * Hoping to complete next week

* next-virtio
   * First series merged, and pulled by next-net
   * More reviews are going on

* next-net-intel
   * Some patches merged, in progress

* next-net-mlx
   * Some patches merged, in progress

* next-net-mrvl
   * Some patches merged, in progress

* next-net-brcm
   * Some patches merged, in progress
     * It would be better to merge big patchsets as early as possible,
       before -rc1 peak hit
       * Internal reviews are already going on for some of them


LTS
---

* 18.11.10-r1 is out, please test

   * Will there be a Microsoft testing?
   * Release planned on 28 September
   * There will be two more releases before 18.11 LTS EOL

   * It went well
   * There was a good interaction in the chat window
     * We can think having similar infrastructure during physical summits
   * There could be some break between sessions
   * Networking are not much utilized

DPDK Release Status Meetings
============================

The DPDK Release Status Meeting is intended for DPDK Committers to 
discuss the
status of the master tree and sub-trees, and for project managers to track
progress or milestone dates.

The meeting occurs on every Thursdays at 8:30 UTC. on 
https://meet.jit.si/DPDK
