In practice, compatibility is probably maintained, but we are
committed to maintain ABI compatibility with v21.11 only.
So I would leave this as is.

Agreed +1 - our only commitment is to v21.11.

I don't think it would be more complicated.
In reality, we are already testing compatibility with minor versions,
and there is no issue.
