This is a request for 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps support in the ixgbe PMD for the X550 adapter.

Support of these 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T speeds may be useful for networking applications
using existing CAT 5e/CAT 6 cables at lengths up to 100 m.

The ixgbe base driver in dpdk-17.05/drivers/net/ixgbe/base appears to include support for
2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps speeds. However, the ixgbe PMD in dpdk-17.05/drivers/net/ixgbe does not.

Testing with "l2fwd" in DPDK 17.05 demonstrates that the ixgbe PMD can successfully establish
link on ports at 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps, using remote switch port speed to select the link rate.
When the link rate is set to 2.5 Gbps or 5 Gbps, the "l2fwd" application is unable to establish
link up.

                                               - Lee Roberts
