Subject: patch 'net/memif: fix const pointer in socket check' has been queued to stable release 24.11.4
Date: Mon, 1 Dec 2025 14:41:07 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20251201144112.633118-8-ktraynor@redhat.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20251201144112.633118-1-ktraynor@redhat.com>

Hi,

FYI, your patch has been queued to stable release 24.11.4

Note it hasn't been pushed to http://dpdk.org/browse/dpdk-stable yet.
It will be pushed if I get no objections before 12/03/25. So please
shout if anyone has objections.

Also note that after the patch there's a diff of the upstream commit vs the
patch applied to the branch. This will indicate if there was any rebasing
needed to apply to the stable branch. If there were code changes for rebasing
(ie: not only metadata diffs), please double check that the rebase was
correctly done.

Queued patches are on a temporary branch at:
https://github.com/kevintraynor/dpdk-stable

This queued commit can be viewed at:
https://github.com/kevintraynor/dpdk-stable/commit/05620bea85c2d2685c61f1be329bc7aad8ace49d

Thanks.

Kevin

Subject: [PATCH] net/memif: fix const pointer in socket check

[ upstream commit 367d26dd8ace9e5f74d7434a82332e9813efd4bc ]

With latest glibc (Fedora Rawhide):
../drivers/net/memif/rte_eth_memif.c: In function
	'memif_check_socket_filename':
../drivers/net/memif/rte_eth_memif.c:1848:13: warning: assignment discards
'const' qualifier from pointer target type [-Wdiscarded-qualifiers]
 1848 |         tmp = strrchr(filename, '/');
      | ^

Fixes: 09c7e63a71f9 ("net/memif: introduce memory interface PMD")
