Subject: [dpdk-stable] "app/eventdev: fix timeout accuracy" incompatible with 19.11.x
Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2021 12:42:08 +0200 [thread overview]

Hi,
the change
$ git show 626b12a8d3bb018f7fc9e2eae356a375fb2d38dc
commit 626b12a8d3bb018f7fc9e2eae356a375fb2d38dc
Author: Pavan Nikhilesh <pbhagavatula@marvell.com>
Date: Thu Feb 25 17:31:43 2021 +0530
app/eventdev: fix timeout accuracy
was targeted for the stable series, but in 19.11 (only on some distributions)
that causes issues around a linking error like:
[ 571s] /bin/ld: test_perf_common.o: undefined reference to symbol
'ceil@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
[ 571s] //usr/lib64/libm.so.6: error adding symbols: DSO missing
from command line
I didn't see which other change to linking/libs might be needed,
but if you think this is important for 19.11.x I wanted to ask you to consider
having a look and providing a backport.
One (but there were more) example combination that failed with that was
CentOS_7/x86_64
