Subject: [dpdk-users] vmxnet3 pmd is slower than stock vmxnet3 driver
Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2017 15:22:05 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <CABPztS1Eve68g1e3TNezArXqTK_9C5PUyZd=LpxMvjwOaefYrw@mail.gmail.com> (raw)
Hi,
>From my tests vmxnet3 pmd processes packets at a rate of about 1.8Gbps,
while the stock vmxnet3 driver is 20% faster. Is anyone seeing this too?
I based my code on examples/skeleton/basicfwd.c, and I have experimented
with different numbers for RX_RING_SIZE, BURST_SIZE etc. but no much
difference is seen.
The VM is running CentOS 7. dpdk-16.11.2 is used.
Thanks,
Zhao
