Subject: [dpdk-users] all rx packets are zero on dpdk but function well on linux
Date: Sun, 27 May 2018 14:20:55 +0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <CABc_bMDy5g7M3=B9fC5PgiT1EpQDvjBseFqQb6ZeGOYXOKEk8g@mail.gmail.com> (raw)
Hi,
I have a 82599ES that functions well on linux (i.e. ixgbe).
However, when binded to dpdk 100% of the received packets are counted as
missed (using testpmd as well as my own stable application), and non arrive
to the application.
I wonder what can be the reason. Why does it functions well on linux but
not in dpdk, what can be the reason that the polling rx app doesn't
actually read from the device.
I'm using dpdk 16.11.
ubuntu 16.04
hp g9

The only patch I currently have is forwarding the traffic to an internal VM
and running the dpdk app in the VM, but it is not optimal at all.
Thanks.
